COMMERCIAL FINANCE MANAGER

A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a Commercial Finance manager to support the business in making decisions through a strategic, analytical and value adding partnership with finance. To drive profitability improvement initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the business heads in driving profitability of their business units
    • Support the business through analytical analysis of profitability with recommendations for improvements
      • Review and reporting on commercial agreements impacting profitability (including Data Fees, co-marketing arrangements etc.)
        • Full ownership of the Data Fees, projects and adhoc sales initiatives including stakeholder management, ROI assessments and presentations, customer support and ensuring compliance to SOP’s
          • Approve data fees and adhoc sales initiatives costs
            • Review and approval of Private market & State New Product P&L’s including Marketing Plan (LMS system approval) in order to assess new product financial viability and strategies
              • Management of co-marketing agreements including attending meetings as the Aspen finance representative
                • Support sales team with pricing and contract negotiations with customers
                  • Ensure financial controls are in place for the respective business units
                    • Responsible for handling commercial finance aspects of business decisions
                      • Process flow improvements and implementation
                        • Review and approve SOPs from a financial control perspective
                          • Compiling and management of cost saving initiatives.
                            • Monitoring financial performance of deals (e.g. Viking)
                              • Compiling regular ROI analysis for large expenses
                                • Cost controlling including budgeting, forecasting, monthly analysis
                                  • Field visits with relevant sales managers and Key Accounts to gain understanding of the market
                                    • Responsible for assessing underlying information relating to strategic projects
                                      • Supporting the team with other aspects of commercial finance (serving as a back for other CFMs).

                                      REQUIREMENTS

                                      • Matric
                                      • CA(SA) (2-5 years post articles)
                                      • Commercial exposure
                                      • Computer literate - proficiency in excel, word, PowerPoint, and a fully integrated computer system e.g. SAP
                                      • Prior experience in the interpretation and use of accounting standards and the Companies Act
                                      • Understanding of ERP systems
                                      • Pharmaceutical experience advantageous.
