A leading gaming and entertainment client is seeking a Chartered Accountant for a Group Financial Accountant role within the finance team. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, motivated and have a high attention to detail. This role will report directly to the Group Financial Manager and the Chief Financial Officer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafting of annual financial statements in terms of IFRS
    • Preparing monthly group consolidated trail balances using Caseware (including intercompany eliminations)
      • Monthly tax calculations and reconciliations
        • Statutory returns (VAT, Income Tax) and correspondence with SARS
          • Reviewing and releasing of payments
            • Preparing the external/internal audit files, including all reconciliations and being the primary audit contact
              • Assisting with updating supporting schedules pertaining to B-BBEE reporting
                • Responding to financial inquiries by gathering, analysing, summarising, and interpreting data
                  • Preparing resolutions and agreements as and when required for companies within the group
                    • Being responsible for company registration/de-registration within the group
                      • Due to the nature of the business’ growing activities the role may require other ad-hoc responsibilities as required by the Group Financial Manager and the CFO/CEO

                      REQUIREMENTS

                      • CA(SA) or B. Com Fin Acc Hons degree with a couple of years’ experience in similar role
                      • Completed articles at a reputable firm
                      • Experience in drafting and reviewing annual financial statements in terms of IFRS
                      • Relevant experience in group consolidations will be advantageous
                      • Relevant experience in statutory reporting will be advantageous
                      • Computer literacy: at advanced level (Ms Office, Pastel, Pilot, Caseware)
                      • Be able to work under pressure: deadlines are very tight, accurate reporting is essential
                      • Critical thinking skills: Ability to solve problems
                      • Knowledge of applicable accounting standards (IFRS) and Income Tax and VAT act
                      • Excellent time management/project management skills
                      • Excellent communication: good interpersonal and be able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal format
                      • Excellent administrative skills: Be able to work with high level of accuracy
                      • Team work: Must be able to work as part of a team
