A fast-growing subsidiary within a JSE-listed Group is looking for a Financial Manager (Projects) to form part of a new finance team based in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be professional, diligent and an innovative/dynamic team player, with good attention to detail. This role will report directly to the Group Financial Manager and the Chief Financial Officer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Involved in drafting and reviewing of company policies and procedures
    • Involved in report writing and enhancing existing templates
      • Involved in the bidding process of the company as and when required
        • Managing the general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accurate mapping
          • Involved in drafting of training manuals for finance
            • Analysing performance and implementing cost-saving models across the group
              • Building budgets and monitoring actual performance to budget
                • Due to the nature of the business’ growing activities the role may require other ad-hoc responsibilities as required by the Group Financial Manager and the CFO/CEO
                This role does not have fixed responsibilities but offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be involved in projects related to finance, human resources (HR), information technology (IT), compliance, catering and gaming.

                REQUIREMENTS

                • CA(SA) with 1-2 years post qualification experience
                • Completed articles at a reputable firm (big four preferred)
                • Computer literacy: at advanced level (Ms Office, Pastel and Caseware)
                • Be able to work under pressure: deadlines are very tight, accurate reporting is essential
                • Critical thinking skills: Ability to solve problems
                • Excellent time management/project management skills
                • Excellent communication: good interpersonal and be able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal format
                • Excellent administrative skills: Be able to work with high level of accuracy
                • Team work: Must be able to work as part of a team
                • Multi-tasking: Ability to adjust to a changing environment on short notice and manage multiple projects
