My client is a Proudly South African company, run by South Africans in Guangzhou, China. Guangzhou is fifth largest city in China, it is adjacent to Shanghai and is just two hours away from Hong Kong. The client is a global leader in providing , high-end technology in election, identity & self-service solutions to governments and corporations. This fast-growing technology and bio-metric verification company was established only in 2004 and in the last 13 years has seen tremendous growth. They have not only broken the barrier and attained a prominent position in the Chinese market, but they have also expanded their business to various parts of the world. Their offices are also in Hong Kong, New York, Johannesburg, Malawi and Colombia. But you will be based in the heart of the business - the manufacturing headquarters in Guangzhou, China.

This is a senior sales position focused on solution selling into the business’s products in line with the business’s strategy. This is an operational role for a CA and who will be deeply involved in managing the revenue line for the business. The role will involve support, management and reporting of sales activity and opportunities across the global sales organisation. The role will be required to qualify sales leads, propose, and close deals in an effective and efficient manner. The position will also project manage and execute tenders on behalf of the business. The applicant must have an ability to understand business needs, market attractiveness, develop relationships with channel partners, suppliers, and support and manage an agent network accordingly to drive sales across the globe. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, and proficient with profitability metrics that are essential for deal negotiation and pricing. Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Achieving annual global sales targets for the business
    • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of the Election, Identity and Self Service industries including trends, products, competitors and technology advances
      • Manage specific sales opportunities and oversee product solutions
        • Project manage and execute tenders in line with tender strategy
          • Establish and maintain key account and channel partner relationships
            • Develop and maintain a strong sales partner network and support sales partners when required
              • Support Business Development Managers across the Group and report back to senior management
                • Development continuous improvement initiatives for sales teams regarding strategy and approach
                  • Adapt and improve the sales process to adequately support the business


                  • Commercially minded, proficient with numbers and excel with ability to analytically interpret data
                  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills
                  • Confident, assertive, out-going, great attitude, strong organizational skills, and a self-starter
                  • Ideally CA (SA) or other equivalent degree from a reputable university
                  • Ideally 2 years from a consulting or solution selling background
                  • Understand or have a keen interest in electronics technology
                  • The role is based in Guangzhou, China and may require elements of travel.
