Our Story.

Blue Recruiting is the brainchild of founding partners James Hobson, a recruitment specialist, and Graeme Marais, a Chartered Accountant, who completed his articles at KPMG.

The two saw an opportunity to establish a recruitment firm aligned with KPMG in 2014 to provide relationship-centred, specialist recruitment support to SAICA trainees completing their articles, and solving KPMG’s clients’ financial staffing needs. The relationships and backing from KPMG in Blue Recruiting’s infancy allowed the business to grow exponentially.

Today, Blue Recruiting is independent of Big Four audit firms and is one of the top financial recruitment firms in South Africa and abroad.

Graeme Marais

Executive Director | Passionate South African | Conservationist

Graeme is the founder and executive director of Blue Recruiting. He is passionate about a lot of things, but none more so than building relationships with people. He is a registered CA as well as an entrepreneur who is dedicated to building successful businesses and creating a meaningful impact in South Africa and the rest of Africa.

Graeme is also the co-founder and current trustee of Bokamoso Education Trust which was established in 2008 to provide financial assistance to children whose parents cannot afford a quality education.

James Hobson

Executive Director | Karoo farmer | Ex-Game Ranger

James is somewhat of a recruitment prodigy. He has a seemingly infinite rolodex of strong relationships due to his super-power of remembering every person he has ever met. In the decade + that he has been in recruitment, he has introduced a new level of professionalism, work ethic and expertise to the industry. James is also the co-founder of Blue Recruiting, having joined Graeme in the first weeks of discovering a gap in the market.

Jade Nel

Head of International | Social Butterfly | Padel Enthusiast

Jade is the driving force behind our Blue Recruiting International division, leading a team of consultants that match South African CAs and Transaction Advisory Consultants with global opportunities. With her guidance, the team has transformed career aspirations into realities for hundreds of South African CAs.

What sets Jade apart is her unique blend of recruitment skill and project management finesse. Equipped with a PMP certification from UCT, she delivers both talent and a seamless experience for candidates and clients. She’s also pretty mean on the padel court.

Lucy-Skye Hammond

Head of Data Services & Advisory | Chief Happiness Officer | Superbru Champion

Lucy is a true multi-tasker. She has an MCom degree in Industrial Psychology and experience domestically and internationally in recruitment and HR. She has a split role at Blue Recruiting, looking after the Data Services and Advisory Division and internal Human Resource function.

She is known in the business for her performance-driven and meticulous approach. She also has a deep passion for people and business, and thrives on uncovering value in even the most minute aspects of the business.

Salma Snyders

Head of Commerce & Industry | Fashionista | TikTok Influencer

Salma is a leader in financial recruitment. She has over a decade of experience in recruitment, and has managed a diverse team of recruiters, and key accounts within her portfolio of clients for a number of years.

Her background in HR, Business Development and Financial Recruitment plays an integral role in furthering the Blue Recruiting brand and delivering value to clients. She is also an aspiring Comrades Marathon runner.

Sairisha Singh

Financial Services Manager | Boundary Breaker | Supercar Enthusiast

Together with her strong team, Sairisha, is committed to transforming lives and leaving a positive mark on the finance industry. She has a rock solid foundation in Neuropsychology & extensive experience in finance recruitment.

She has orchestrated career opportunities for multiple mid to C-suite levelled professionals. What’s her secret weapon? Roles should fit like a racing glove. She enjoys getting to know what makes clients and candidates tick & nurturing lasting relationships.

Bokamoso Education Trust

The Bokamoso Education Trust was co-founded by Graeme Marias, Blue Recruiting’s founder and Managing Director.

Bokamoso’s primary goal is to provide financial support to South African families without sufficient personal resources for their children’s education.

By pooling together donations from individuals and corporations, the trust supports children from grade 000 through grade 12, as well as tertiary students. Blue Recruiting is proud to be a benefactor in giving these children a crucial head start in life.
