Our Story
Blue Recruiting is one of the top financial recruitment firms in South Africa and abroad. Founding partners, James Hobson, a recruitment specialist, and Graeme Marais, a Chartered Accountant who completed his traineeship at KPMG, saw an opportunity to establish a recruitment firm aligned with KPMG in 2014.
Blue Recruiting set out to provide recruitment support to SAICA trainees completing their articles, and solve KPMG clients’ financial staffing needs. The relationships and backing from KPMG in Blue Recruiting’s infancy allowed the business to grow exponentially.
Today, Blue Recruiting is independent of Big Four audit firms and has expanded it’s services to help companies find the best finance, data and technology professionals in South Africa and abroad.

Graeme Marais
Executive Director | Passionate South African
Graeme, the founder and executive director of Blue Recruiting, is a registered Chartered Accountant and an entrepreneur. He’s passionate about building successful businesses that have a meaningful impact across Africa. He’s also the co-founder and trustee of the Bokamoso Education Trust, an initiative dedicated to providing financial assistance for the education of underprivileged children. His greatest passion remains building and nurturing relationships with people.

James Hobson
Executive Director | Karoo Farmer | Ex-Ranger
Being somewhat of a recruitment prodigy, James has an extensive rolodex of strong relationships due to his incredible ability to remember every person he has ever met. With over 10 years in the industry, he has introduced a new level of professionalism and expertise to the recruitment field. As a co-founder of Blue Recruiting, James joined Graeme in the very first weeks of identifying a critical gap in the market, bringing his work ethic and specialised knowledge to the business.

Bokamoso Education Trust
The Bokamoso Education Trust was co-founded by Graeme Marias, Blue Recruiting’s founder and Managing Director.
Bokamoso’s primary goal is to provide financial support to South African families without sufficient personal resources for their children’s education.
By pooling together donations from individuals and corporations, the trust supports children from grade 000 through grade 12, as well as tertiary students. Blue Recruiting is proud to be a benefactor in giving these children a crucial head start in life.
