Reference:
The role involves overseeing and managing regulatory reporting activities for the organization, ensuring compliance with the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) regulations, including Basel requirements. The Head of Regulatory Reporting ensures accurate preparation, submission, and control of BA returns, supports regulatory projects, and facilitates effective stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Reporting:

Prepare, review, and submit BA returns to SARB, adhering to deadlines and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with the Bank Act and Basel regulations, including implementing regulatory changes.
Automation and Process Improvement:

Automate and enhance BA returns and supporting systems with tools like the Haywood system.
Address audit findings and improve controls through initiatives like the "Model Audit Program."
Analysis and Reconciliation:

Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies in BA returns.
Reconcile financial data with relevant subsystems and general ledger accounts.
Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting:

Prepare ALCCO packs, including capital, LCR, and NSFR scenario modeling.
Facilitate external audit processes and manage interactions with SARB analysts.
Regulatory Projects:

Drive and sign off on key projects, such as BA 900 automation and BASEL IV implementation.
Attend regulatory meetings to ensure alignment with emerging requirements.
Team Leadership:

Manage deliverables of direct reports and ensure team cross-training.
Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:

BCom graduate in a relevant field.
Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in BA reporting under Basel III.
Management experience with a small team.
Skills:

Proficiency in advanced Excel, intermediate Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong understanding of Basel III regulations, the Bank Act, and the Haywood system.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
Competencies:

Strong verbal and written communication.
Team player with excellent problem-solving abilities.
